Congratulations to St George's Athletics team for an excellent start to the season. This first informal Interschools event of the Athletics season at Prince Edward is usually too early in the term for us to really shine. However, the meeting started in emphatic style with our young U14 sprinter, K Mbinda and U16, M Rutsate coming first in the 200m.
In the U16 800m, T Mapfumo showed great form to win this race comfortably. The 100m sprint produced a shock result when both our U14 and U16 stars were pipped into second place by two Allan Wilson sprinters!
In the relays our U14's ran a superb race, after PE were disqualified at the start, to come first and that opened up our lead for the first time.
Then the U16's came second (also to Allan Wilson) and our U19's also did well to come in second to clinch this place for the first time in a long time.
