St George’s Clinic

Sister Debra Mwatse, Mrs B Chiponda as SAFA Mums & Boys

The Clinic is primarily for the care of the Boarders, but is on call for emergencies for the rest of the College.  Every boy, whether a day scholar or boarder, has a Health Card which needs termly updating in the following areas:

  • All relevant medical information
  • Height and weight
  • Change of class
  • Change of address or contact numbers

We also have a physiotherapist who visits the College once a week, on Mondays.  Booking can be made through the Clinic.

Off-Sports Notes

A medical practitioner’s letter is required to be handed in to the Clinic, first thing in the morning.  By break-time an off-sports note will be ready for collection by the pupil, to be taken to the sports master.

Lost Property

Open at break-time on Mondays and Thursdays.  A charge will be made for all reclaimed items.  Anything that is unnamed and unidentifiable, will be re-sold at a realistic price!

Blood Donors

Every term the Blood Transfusion Centre sends a team to collect blood from donors over 50kgs and 16 years and over, and parents and staff are urged to help swell our numbers on this important day.  Also note that there is an annual prize for the school that donates the most blood.

First Aid Club

The services of this club are vital.  The commitment of parents, staff and pupils, whether qualified or not, is most important. Up-to-date first aid courses, which would benefit everybody, are offered.  (In the past, some pupils have even qualified on the points scale for school colours!  This highlights the importance the College attaches to this service to others.)

Any parents who are prepared to be involved with First Aid, in any way, please let us know in the January of each year.  Kindly contact the College Clinic on telephone 704064.

Sending your son to St George’s must mean more to you than simply bringing and collecting him every day.  Remember to be sure your son drinks plenty of water first and last thing every day, and is well-nourished, well-dressed and in good health on arrival every morning.
