Feast Of St Ignatius At St George's College

Saturday, August 1st, 2020 | Academic

Thank you to Fr Joe Arimoso SJ for celebrating the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola Mass with us virtually this morning in collaboration with Area 46 Productions. Due to Covid-19, Mass this year was celebrated differently in comparison to previous years.

Last year instead of celebrating Mass in the College Chapel, it was moved across to Neptune’s Lawn where the whole school community from Grade 0 all the way through to Upper 6 took part in this particularly special Eucharistic celebration.

It was really pleasing to see students across all ages contribute towards different parts of the Mass making it an artistic collage of readings, prayers, songs, processions and dances.

Once Mass had ended, all students and staff took a walk down to the sports fields where friendly volleyball and soccer matches took place, ending the mornings celebrations in style. It was amazing to see the St George’s spirit displayed throughout all matches.

Now sit back, relax and enjoy some of the special memories created and shared during last year’s celebrations.
