St George’s College is extremely proud of OG Peter Purcell-Gilpin (Class of 2012), who will be competing in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics for Rowing. Peter will be representing Zimbabwe and will be carrying the Zimbabwean flag during the official opening ceremony.His first involvement in the Olympics will be the M1x heat (8:50 am in Tokyo and 2:00 am CAT) on Friday 23rd July 2021 and will compete in other races including the Repecharge race, on Saturday 24th July 2021, followed by the quarter-finals to the finals over the following days.Due to Peter’s determination, skill and prowess, he has been able to compete amongst the world’s fastest single scullers. Peter, the whole College family are behind you and will be supporting you every step of the way.
